Ceramic & Teflfon Piston Coating Question
I have an 01 that I'm rebuilding and thinking about ceramic coating the tops of the pistons and Teflon coating the skirts. I was wondering if anyone either knows anything about it or has done it and what their thoughts are as far as how it compared over stock pistons, changes in fuel milage, and the down sides of doing it. Thanks in advance for any information/advice.

Can I ask why you want to get the pistons coated? Its probably not required if your building a hot VP truck, and the extra protection that you get is marginal. Yes it does help. There are different coating available.

I was thinking about it if it increased the fuel mileage is the main reason I was looking at it. It will all be standard, no hotrodding or high performance. I didn't know it there where any signicant beneifts that would definitely make me want to do it or not.
