i have never really heard of a break in period for them, but good luck with that clutch, i cant wait untill i melt mine, so i can swap it out with something a little less grabby, they are miserable for driving around town, or trying to get a good launch from a stop, but they do hold alot of power...

i was pretty sure my 13" ceramic was just take it easy for about 500miles let it get settled in then you can start working it.
hey dodgetrucker75 are you driving it easy, i know some of the clutches just get glazed up after extended periods of driving normal and get really grabby. a good smooth 3rd gear start seems to clear up mine pretty good when it gets grabby.

Well, if you really want to know, my syage III heavy duty clutch from clutch city took about 6000 miles to fully break with out shudder. Some of the clutched are very aggresive and upgrade to you suspension is advised.

i have had mine in for about 10,000mi now, and it has never changed from the day i put it in, but i have never tried that third great thing, but just trying to take off in second gear, its so jerky i feel like the drive shaft going to find its way out, and backing up with these things is the worst of all, especially with a trailer

ive got about 75 miles so far, it sat for a whole week till i could get some new rubber and an inspection, but some shudders are worse than others i have noticed if u give it slight rpms then it doesnt shudder as bad. reverse is fine so far, but i have not had a trailer on or backed under one.
just curious but if u punch it in 5th and it slips and u let off and punch it again wont it slip again? and if not Y? and i thought if u slipped one once u might as well replace it cause u will slip it again, and more frequently and with greater ease.

Once a clutch breaks in it shouldn't slip in 5th gear; if it does either you have too much power or something when wrong with the installation, maybe the flywheel wasn't resurfaced. as far as my 6000. mile break in period, i had to launch on 1st for about 4 months before I was able to take off on 2nd without violent shudder. It also take a little of re-learning how to handle some of these aggressive clutches, also they're pretty noisy at idle.

mine came with a new fly wheel i havnt slipped in any gear but i havnt tried. its rated at 600hp and i dont think my truck has but maybe half that, maybe 350 or so i changed it out cause i could lite the stock one up in a hurry a buddy of mine put in an oem replacement when he took it to california and even with 1500 easy miles on it the first time i laid into it it felt like it was slippin just as bad as the previous clutch.
i went with the ceramic for hopefully long life and for future power i want in my truck
