Remember, discussing the removal of emissions equipment isn't allowed on this site. I realize that your only asking if a check engine light comes on, but if it turns down the wrong path it's getting locked.

Why is that? So you can't ask about a turbo back exhaust system then? How about if the persons vehicle was an off-road vehicle only now? Don't programmers change the emissions on a vehicle? How about injectors? Cams? Higher boost levels that create more NO2?
For off-road vehicles or test purposes, if you take the cat off, it will not set any codes or CEL.

Just remember... when you are done driving off road, reinstall it.
