Question Cat replacement ?

Has anyone had to replace their cat on a 3rd gen (no not with straight pipe) because of plugging up ? How much did it cost ? I remember needing to have them replaced on gassers and they were expensive.

I have read they are expensive. That said, I can remember only one thread in nearly 4 years of a cat that needed replacement and that was due to a shredded turbo clogging it up. My cat has been intact and working properly for 136K miles many of those miles with a tuner / chip on it.

Pull it off, take a bar to it's innards, put it back on - no more worry about the plugging up stuff and better flow. And don't forget to SAVE the innards, they DO have value.

Never heard of one on a CR plugging up. Ford 6.0's plug up all the time...but not on a Dodge.

BTW, Magnaflow sells converters in either 4" or 5" for approx $300 (for now).

Dealer price is $1500 IIRC.
