Question Carli Adjustible Track Bar install tips?

I plan with in the next week or so installing the carli adjustable track bar to re-align my axles since i am running a 4in lift.

Now my question to the ones that installed it, What torque wrench did you use to get the nut to 200 foot pounds. I dont see getting a socket with the heim on there. Off hand I have no idea what size the nut is and im sure I dont have a wrench for the **** thing so I plan on making a trip to sears would anyone know the size? metric or imperial?

thanks!

Hope this turned out ok for you.

I would like to know if you are running a stock differential cover? I just purchased a Mag-Hytec front differential cover and am wondering if the steering stabilizer and Trackbar could possibly hit.

Carli track bar install tips.

I believe its a 19mm, but not positive. Really not that hard to accomplish, just make sure once you have your overall installed length correct by adjusting the heim joint end, that you use some blue locktite on the heim threads and torque the jam nut (locktite) as tight as possible. I did my install in the driveway with no issues. No special tools (wrenches and sockets) other than what you need to remove and install both bars. I used a 2ft breaker bar and an impact socket to torque the bar at the both ends. YOU CAN'T GET THEM TOO TIGHT!!!! It's a quality piece and a real solution to the DW. Been running mine for at least 5 years. Good luck.

The jam nut is 23mm Sears didnt have it in stock so I bought a better adjustable wrench. I'm hoping to get it on this week hopefully and clean up while in under there.

Just a heads up......There is no way an adjustable wrench will get it tight enough. try harbor freight or Northern tool and supply.

Get that bar on yet?

I was just trying to keep you from crushing your digits with the adjustable wrench. I used a 2 ft breaker bar with an impact socket. I'm sure it saw 200ft/lbs. Just checkin back in.

Installed one on my dad's truck along with their 3" leveling kit. I used a 24" crescent wrench and slipped a 2ft. pipe over it and put all my weight on it.

losangeleshapa, the track bar (stock and Carli) will make contact with the Mag-Hytec cover. Shawn at Carli told me that Mag-Hytec can grind the diff. cover where it makes contact to remedy the issue. I haven't had the chance to call Mag-Hytec and ask them about this and how much it'll cost. I say send it back and keep your stock diff. cover. The front diff. doesn't get nearly as hot as the rear 'cause the rear is doing most of the work. Even when locked in 4wd.

Just last week I saw a 06 with the mag cover on with the same trac bar... I ask if he had any problems or any grinding he said no...

I wonder if mag-hytec already did that for the new covers being sent out...
