Cargo Weight Rating
The "Consumer Information Truck-Camper Loading" Sheet that came with my truck says I have a Cargo Weight Rating of 1155 Pounds. I want to carry a slide-in, cabover camper that weighs 2500 pounds. What is the best way to beef up the suspension to be able to carry this load? My truck has a GVWR of 9000 pounds. If no one knows, can anyone tell me where to go to get this information. Thanks, John R

My Lance 861 weighs 4460 fully loaded with supplies. My truck handles like a charm of course I have added Rickson wheels with 245/70R/19.5 G rated tires, Helwig sway bar, larger bump stops to engage overloads sooner and upgraded shocks.

JLbrown: What is SRW and LSD in your signature? What is your GVWR ? (Mine is 9000 lbs) It is posted on the Driverside Door. Also, what is your payload? It should be listed in a brochure for your year and I believe it is the GVWR minus the empty weight of your vehicle? Also what is your "Cargo Weight Rating"? (it should be listed on a single sheet of paper printed in red that came with your vehicle and is titled "Consumer Intermation Truck-Camper Loading") One came with my 07 and my 99 so I assume all of them come with one.
