Canadians : HELP with tranny!!!

A friend has a bad tranny (48re auto)but the dealer wants WAY too much for a rebuild!
Can anyone in the Calgary area give him some help?

Thanks to you Canadians and even other Americans who have connections near Calgary!!!

his timing is impeccable!!!

ARMOR Inc in Red Deer just became a Canadian dealer for Goerend Transmission!!! He could give them a call and they would surely fix him up - but beware - Goerend's are not cheap - but they are good . . .

I have also heard nothing but great things from Excell Transmission in Red Deer.

I know there are some great places in Calgary, but not 100% sure of the names . . . maybe 'Dominion' is one, but not sure of the other(s)

Dominion Auto in calgary is good. Did a rebuild on my son's truck for less than $4K including new TC. In and out quite quickly.

True, but that would be a stock rebuild. If yer gonna go through the effort may as well upgrade to duct tape eh!!!

there was a guy on KIIJI in red deer parting out a 96? can't recall the year he also had a 12 valve and most of the truck, I do remember his name was spencer as I talked to him about getting the wheels about 2 weeks ago. think he had a tranny too!

I 2nd the opinion on Excell in Red Deer. He'll build the tranny for whatever you want. Kinda sucks for you that he's in Red Deer though. Can't help you with Calgary.

Mel built my tranny and it's AMAZING!!! If you want to go the Goerend way, talk to ARMOR. Both directions will leave you with big smiles on your face

Dominion installed my BD tranny components, they are excellent.

NADP in Edmonton is also very good and can supply their own components.
