What you complaining about low egts are a GOOD thing. Unless you want to melt things down. I you have more power with less EGTS thats what you want. So smile and enjoy.

The High Pressure Relief Valve is on your common rail (where all of the injector lines connect). The Quad Race pretty much pegs the rail pressure and will eventually wear out the valve...as most presure boxs do when used on their higher settings. Pull out the top banjo bolt...tap the inside of the bolt with a 1/8 npt tap all the way to the head of the bolt (no drilling needed at all) and install a flat head or broached allen head 1/8 npt pipe plug...reinstall the banjo bolt and you will be good to go! A $1 problem...

Or...go buy a new $400 vavlve from Cummins...

If you have diesel in the valve once you pull the banjo bolt, is that a tell tell sign the valve is going bad?

No really...but it is not a really good sign either that you have been opening it. I think everytime it blows open...it opens a little easier next time.

If you remove the banjo bolt for the rail pressure valve there will be fuel just sitting there with the truck off, due to it also being the return from the injectors. that is where people get confused.

If you do a quick search on testing rail pressure relief valve there will be results on how to test it and how to just " bolt " it as a test.

Don't forget the basics, air and then fuel are needed for a diesel to run well.

Post the symptoms of your problem not just low egt and low power unless that is all. The more of the story the higher chance of getting a good guess.

Good luck!
