Yes, mainly for the valve bodies with higher pressure.

Your stocker might be able to handle it, or if not, you could turn up the pressure a little and it might be able to.

hmmm so u think it might be able to run it huh....whats the difference in terms of stress on the tranny between locked up 2nd gear and locked 3rd gear? if i keep both over 1700rpms while locked? are the pressures much lower during 2nd gear then during 3rd or something? im curious to know this....because having the ability to lock up in 2nd is the main reason i would consider a lockup switch...i dont wanna shift while locked

Pretty sure the pressure is determined by RPM, as that's what's running the pump.

I'd say go for it, if it doesn't work, then don't lock it up in 2nd.

I just pretend to know stuff.

I really don't know much about the 12 valve's,
but would assume the transmission would shift at the same points, regardless of the GSK.

I'd think you'd only see 3,000 after you were done shifting.

Your tranny is the same as mine and yes. It will lock up in 2nd-4th BUT you CANT manually put it in 2nd gear and lock it up. In other words, what im trying to say is that unless the shifter is in the "D"(drive) position, the converter will NOT lock. Has to be in the drive position. I wish i could hold mine locked in 2nd. That would be awesome. But the only gears it will hold is 3rd if you have the OD off and 4th(will not kick out until you flick it off in 4th) with it on. It usually wont kick down to 2nd with it locked(if you're in 3rd gear) unless you really pour the coal to it, and then it will downgear to 2nd with the converter locked and really come to life . So the lockup on your truck will work in 2nd through 4th gears but you cant hold it in 2nd like you are wanting. It still gets the lockup ground that it needs to lock the converter(i have a light that comes on when a ground is going to the converter to lock it)so i dont know why it wont work. I guess you do have to have a modified valve body to do that.

I think that you should get a shift kit. Some of the manifold holes are re-drilled to a larger size. Also, you will be able to lock in 2d select.

pressure is throttle position sensitive

Becareful the throttle position is one of the input to pressure.

alrighty i installed the switch! first off i cant believe how much power is lost in the automatics! it only works in drive and it locks as soon as it hits 2nd and shifts nice and crisp through the gears when locked up....and i SMOKE NOW!! haha but in all fairness it scares me a bit.....i dunno what i can get away with on my tranny so i only tried it twice

Ill tell ya what. I have had my truck for about 2 years now. I have had the lockup switch on ever since after the first august i had it(hooked it up right after scheid). I could make it slip pretty bad when i first put it on. Then i got the transgo shift kit, and i can slip it a little in 4th, but it holds pretty good for having the stock converter with probably 100k on it. I have been rough on it too. Hauling, racing, all kinds of stuff. Its holding great so far. If you leave these trucks stock i dont see how an allison would out last it really. They arent that bad of transmissions. I hate chevy's transmissions about the most myself(besides the allison). My buddy has one that was just rebuilt and it just feels like you're always slipping into gear instead of a nice firm shift. I hate it; and i like chevy trucks. My buddy has a new 2500hd, and i really like the truck but its the 6.0l gas without the allison, and his transmission also has a point where it feels like its just slipping into gear instead of a nice shift. You can dog these dodge automatics all you want, but im gonna hold up for mine; as its treated me well.
