Can I get pieces of a fuel pump...

Story:
Buddy owned 1998 12 valve...quad cab, long bed dually, newer interior, leather...yeah yeah...it's "the truck"...It broke so he got mad at it and sold it to me and got himself a new truck.

So I finally get time to see what's going on with it and found that he ground his 100 plate too much and it fell off of the base into the pump I guess getting wedged into something and busting the fuel pump housing at the bottom right at the seal surface of the two pump halfs.
Is it possible to just buy parts to this pump and where do I get them if so?...like...just a case...(and prolly whatever that plate hit)...

I'm debating whether or not to even bother fixing it or to just sell it.

Thanks guys,
Will

Good lord, I thought reman p pumps were like $3000! I'm glad to see they're not-even MORE reason to never switch to a vp-44 truck!

Me too. Thats news to me. Last time I checked they were around 3k.

I wonder who rebuilt that pump? The grade 11 shop class at the local high school?

US Diesel Parts (formerly Gomers) is just up the road from me.
These guys are top notch, but they don't rebuild the pumps, Bosch does.
Maybe you're thinking of the high price without an exchange.
Believe it or not I was quoted $1200 with exchange from the dealer in 1996.

I'm pretty sure that Piers doesnt sell them that cheap.

On a side note - Bill, how far are you from Missoula?

About 65 miles south.
I've looked at Piers' prices before and noticed some of them don't offer exchange.
