Thats the same question I have because the 47rh is hydrualic and the RE is electronic, but the torque converter shouldn't matter right? I mean well the RE is lock up but that is electronically controlled maybe that makes the difference. Thanks though

Yes it will work , lol , i cant belive someone would even say it wouldnt.
For Instance the suncoast converters are as follows
2361819 618 47rh/re single disc for 94-98 trucks
2361819-3D 618 47RH/RE Triple Disc for 94-98 Trucks

The only converters offered by suncoast for 94-98 trucks!
The only changes were in the electronics and tail portion of the trans.

the 47re is a crock. electronic gov. all it is. Not electronic shift. Work the same way as the 27rh but Gov. press. controlled buy a the computer with three different gov. maps. The transmission works like the older units.

It has just to shift silonieds for the 4th gear and convertor lock up. the rest is all done the old way. The don't work like Ford or Gm. It is way behind time's.
the RH is lock up also, and it is done Electronically same as 4th gear. It just had the Govenor that spine with wieghts on them to control Govenor pressure.

A bit of an old tread to answer, almost 10 years old!, but yes the same converter can be used in a 47 RH and a 47 RE.
