Came out of the Store this morning...

and now I can't open my door from the outside, i'm guessing the the rod or what ever came off, broke, etc.... So looks like it will be making it's first trip to the shop next week, because i'm going camping this weekend. Anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

So you can open it from the inside?

Pop off your door panel and take a peek in the door and see whats going on, might be something as simple as like you said, the rod falling off from a clip coming lose or something along those lines. If its a simple fix no need wasting time not having your truck and having it at the dealership...

Ya I can open it from the inside, but i'm not going to both wasting my time doing it because I need to have the door seals done anyway and have them check out my A/C so it will be a one shot deal...Lets hope

Is there a dealership in the area you would suggest going to over another Stacked?

Thanks
Michael

You could have one of the trucks that have a failed door lock mechanism. I remember reading about a lot of people locking themselves out with the keys still in the ignition. And the spare would not turn the door lock on the driver side so they had to use the passenger door lock to enter the vehicle if they had one. Other wise they need a remote fob to unlock the doors and enter throught the passenger door. I notice your signature said you have a 2005.

Do you have outside door locks on both front doors?

I am just curious since, I only have the driver side lock.

Or can you unlock your doors, but can not enter the truck by the door handle?

Just watch out at the dealership, I took mine in to have the weather striping done and they put the drivers side on the passenger side and said to come back when they get the parts. They nevered called back, so I went elsewhere.

I do think it has something to do with the locking mechanism because with the quick hand if I pull out on it quick enought it does not have a chance to catch and not open. If I try to open it normally it will hang up like the door is still locked so. I only have the one outside door lock. I will be taking it in on thurs. so we will see what they have to say. I will be getting the door seals, and A/C checked as well.

Well took the truck into AllenSamuels @ Alliance it's on 35W between goldentriangle and 170. Anyway I took it in for the door problem, also had them do the door seals, and check out the A/C. Well just got a call saying that they found that my door switch bezel piece w/all the window swithes and lock switch was broken (which I already knew it was). I was like o ya it's been broken for a little while and Tim the service rep I was dealing with said that he was just calling to let me know that they were going to fix it under warrenty and everything was going good that it should be ready to go later today. Sweet, Well so far so good with the service w/Allen Samuels let you know how it turns out!

I had the same thing happen to mine a while back. Went to the dealer and bought the door lock switch for about $30 and replaced it. Stew130 did a good write up on what to do with it.

Since you are getting yours done under warranty you are good to go...but some others may come across this problem like me and be out of warranty so it thought I would post a link to the other thread.

Well got the truck back today and every thing looks great. They replaced the door switch bezel, did my door seals, fixed my door lock mech., and charged my a/c it was a .5 pound low and did a dye leak check. Over all i'm very satisfied with the serviceI got there and will be taking my truck back to them if I have to due to aother problem. Tim Myers was the Servce Rep. I delt with.

Mine must have had something else gone wrong because mine actually unlocked I just couldn't ope the door from the out side normally, but if I jerked on it real quick what ever was grabing would not be able to grab, therefor opening. I don't know what they actually replaced didn't try to figure out what the paper work was talking about, because they have weird terms for some of these parts as you probably know.
