cam or turbo for mpg

I recently added 100 hp injectors and with my EZ on timing only it will smoke low rpm unless I drive real easy. It also will smoke at full throttle with full boost which is 34 pounds. I suspect that my mpg has suffered but can't confirm this until I do a long run to confirm. I am used to 22 or so at 70 mph with the old 275 injectors.
I want to add something to clean up the smoke and will hopefully do both the cam and turbo eventually. The question I have is what should I do first? The camshaft should let the engine breath easier and should net some improvement in mpg's but the turbo may do the same. The price of a cam or turbo are about the same.
I am not looking for huge gains in hp but if I can clean up the smoke and it keeps the same mpg's as before with the 275's I will be happy. I know the clutch will probably be complaining soon too so I am waiting for that to start slipping.

I'd go turbo, upgrade to comp or drag comp, clutch. then maybe cam.

The turbo will probably show a better egt result, and after that, you will want more power, thats where the drag comp comes into play.

In your case, an HX-40 hybrid or a ksb-series turbo might be good choice. Do some research on turbos and you will have a better understanding of what to do next, turbo wise.

I'm not interested in more power as around 350 is more than I need. My needs are only to clean up the smoke these new injectors have given me. I may in fact sell these Edge stage 3's and put my 275's back in then save for some of DonM's 1.2 which is supposed to be their most fuel efficient injector along with 85 horsepower.
My most pressing question would be should I do turbo which should be able to clean it up or the cam. Both should let the engine breath easier and the camshaft mod seems to improve mpg's.
I haven't done my exhaust yet and am looking for a quiet muffler that flows good like the big donaldson and I will be doing that shortly.

I added more fuel as well as freed up the intake & exhaust. It'd smoke alright & would build up that black "creep" around the exhaust tip. Took a short drive up to Canada and had an HX40 put on. Smoke cleared up as did that black stuff round the exhaust tip.

Do the turbo. A cam isn't really all that beneficial at that power level.
