CAD and axle stub bushing/bearing?
Ive got an issue with my 4wd not wanting to engage and disengage properly.
Looks like the axle halves arent lining up properly, theres some play, especially on the side with the wheel. So the collar bangs around and damages the shift fork and the rod on the vacuum motor.
I did a little research and it looks like some of these axles came with a plastic bushing that sits after the inner axle seal (the one you can see through the CAD opening). Mine never had that. not even pieces of it.
Anyone ever replaced one? Is this something I can manage with an improvised tool like a length of allthread and some 1/2" sockets?
Weve got some warm weather coming for the weekend. Wish Id bought all this stuff in time to do the work. No garage here, just my driveway.

I've seen a lot of 4wd setups like ours with a plastic washer that fits the axle snug, and keeps large chunks of mud and stuff out of the tube, is that what you mean? That part shouldn't have any effect on alignment of the two shafts though.

Its not the dust seals on the ends of the tubes. This is a support that looks like its in the oil bath, so before the seal

edit: just read that again and realized theyre talking about the -inner- side.
what supports the outer side next to the cad besides the seal itself?
