Once you get over the idea of drilling holes in your perfectly good roof, it is no big deal. Just make absolutley sure that you get the template pieces perfectly straight before you drill the screw holes. Then, make sure they are straight again. Check once more, and then drill. Once you drill the screw holes, you are locked into that alignment. So, be careful.

What lights did you get?? The lights from Chrysler or an aftermarket kit?? I know the Dodge dealer in Ada, MN quoted me a price for installation of these clearance lights at $300 which I thought to be reasonable considering they are Chrysler dealer and stand behind their work. But JSP is right....once you get over the thought of drilling holes in your roof & measure numerous times BEFORE drilling, you'll have a great looking truck for your troubles!!

My friend got the Chrysler light set, and we cut out each light template from the whole sheet. If you get the newer style lights for your truck DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED TEMPLATE!!!!!! It is for the '03 up trucks. Cut out each template and place them after you drill the big holes.

when i got my kit from chrysler it only cost me about 80$ and it was a big piece of paper that streched from side to side and had arrows to get the correct distance from the windshield. then i plugged the wire into the junction box on the back side of the fues panel inside the truck

I aint ordered them yet I was just gonna go ahead and get the directions for it.. In yalls opinion are the Chrysler lights or aftermarket better??

Great write up - I have one dumb question though - how do you get to the middle lights from the outside? Lay on the roof? Or make some sort of scafolding (sp)? I was wondering, since I want to get a set of smoked Recons to replace my factory lights, but wasnt sure how exactly to get to the middle lights with a screwdriver....

Stand in the doorway and you can reach the centers, at least I could on mine. If you can't, you may need a ladder. Just stay to the front edge, because the center gets a little softer if you try to put your weight on it.
