Cab light bulbs

I need some bulbs for my cab lights, I have Recon's smoked ones, and they came with the LED amber peanut bulbs. Problem is, my town does not sell anything like that, (for some reason or another) and I've been a little busy with work. I'd like to swap the amber ones out with some super whites, and I called recon to see if they would sell me some, and the guy I talked to told me to beat it.

A link to a site would be great, or a phone number.

TIA...

I'm not totally sure, but I think the law requires the cab lights be an "amber" color. I had a buddy change his to purple and got pulled over that night!

Recon sells them white and super white, so I know it's cool. I see a lot of guys running around with them here. It might be a state thing. I'll take the chance...

Just curious, how many diodes did those amber bulbs from Recon have? I've got some nice 5 diode amber ones like these http://superlumination.com/images/au...atrix_a_wm.jpg in my cab lights. Here is the same bulb in superwhite: http://superlumination.com/images/au...atrix_w_wm.jpg You can also get this bulb in Blue, Red, Green, and UV color.

Its the "194 Matrix 5led" bulb and replaces factory size 168. Does not require load equalizers either just swap em out and they work great. That site also has these specific replacement incandescent bulbs in Blue, Clear, Red, Amber, Green, and Purple. The main webpage is http://www.autolumination.com/ you can learn a lot about leds reading up on that website do's and dont's etc. I've ordered a lotta bulbs from there and never got a bad one. The guy sends them first class USPS and they usually get here in TN from AZ in 3 to 4 days.

Well that was nice of him and thanks for mentioning it. I've heard this stuff is good for smoking the factory amber lenses http://www.testors.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=1243 so I guess I'll forget about Recons if I ever do smoke em.

Thanks, Chris. I think that the bulbs are the 5 lens ones, I'll have to look. I liked the style of the recons, and I hear that they have a new design out so that you can use the factory wiring harness instead of cutting and splicing the wires. I had to cut my wires and splice them to the bulb sockets that came with the lights. I did not like the gaskets or screws that they sent, or their customer service, but the lenses look good.

I sent an email to Recon this morning asking them where I can get replacement bulbs for my lights. I will let you know if they respond.

Thumbs down

a guy named heath over there at recon says they have sold over 10,000 untis and have absolutely ZERO problems!..and that i am the only guy with problems... what a bunch of BS!!!

in fact i should paste the email he has sent me. he's a real jerk. i feel very sorry for the company he is representing.

my LEDS keep dimming or going out. but the stocks have no problems.....IMO there product is overpriced crap and their customer service sucks.

stay away from them is the best advice i can offer.

Well I found out one of my lights I recieved Friday and installed Saturday is out. I don't know who the guy was I talked to but he was not very nice. He told me to take a picture of them on with the one light out, send them a email with my shipping info and the picture and they would send me a new light. I moved the light to two different locations and it is the light that is out not the wiring on the truck. I will give them the chance to make it right but they should have one on the way to me now. This is probably the last Recon item I buy.

...hands are tied? what does that mean? if you cannot
help me i want a FULL refund. and i will post on the
many forums i visit about how poor your product and
customer service is. i don't care how much you sell
and how little problems you have. my stock lights work
fine as they are on right now... and yours doesn't.. i was
told that i was going to recieve a whole new set...
not just one lense. if your product is so good, why do
you feel the need to lie to me? all i am asking is
what i have been offered. i have had numerous success
with the better business bureau on matters like this.
if you want to handle it that way we can.

Thank you

keep in mind that this has been going on for a few weeks now and with still no solution or cooperation on their part. i have sent them emails, and pics and even talked to them over the phone. they talk a big game, but are turning out to be more like pirates rather than a good company to do business with. it looks like i've wasted $100 on lights that do not work and may need to be raplaced with new ones every week or so. why is it hard for them to come up with a good reliable product instead of crap? and if tehy claim to have such a spotless record with their product, why are they dodging me?

Just as a update to my bad cab light I sent them the information and a photo of the bad light last night as I was told to do. I received the email below from Heath Lewis. We will see how fast I get the replacement.

A new cab light will ship to you tomorrow..

Sorry about the defect.
