Cab Differences
Cab Differences
I stumbled acrossed a post that said the 1st gen 4wd and 2wd cabs are different.
It was only one post. Something about the hump ht over the tranny.
Does anyone know for sure?
Is there anything else different?
Are the gassers different etc?
Thanks, KO

Yes there is a difference in the cabs. From what I have seen all the cab's from gas to diesel is the same. The difference you speak of is from 4wd to 2wd, the 4wd trucks have a wider and taller trans tunnel. What allot of people do (myself included soon) is they get a mid 70's 4wd tunnel because they bolt in, then they cut out the floor and make the new "bolt in" tunnel work for them. It is nice because if you need to get to the top of the trans or t-case you just unbolt the floor and your there but the t-case is still going to be a bit of a reach. Hope this answers your question.
yes, the tranny tunnels on a 4wd are larger(higher and wider) than a 2wd.Cab wise that's the only difference. Diesel vs gas and year to year comparison, the biggest change generally is the wiring harness.
