A/C question

The air on my truck does not work. Does the engine computer have anything to do with the A/C ? I want to get it working again, but dont know how this thing works...yet. Can you put the a/c on a seperate switch ? Just needing some info on this subject.

The ac clutch has power when the key is on but the computer switches the ground to engage the clutch.

Is there any refrigerant in it? Also the low psi switch would keep it from running if it is low.

Talking

Yes you could run a new ground with it's own switch and by pass the ECM. But you do not know if that is what is stopping it from running.

Check your pressures first. Mine hadn't worked for the longest time and I finally got around to figuring it out. I started scratching my head trying to think of where the problem might be. However, it was as simple as just charging the system. I had a leak in one of the lines. I didn't know that until just last month when I had it charged with dye.
