A/C HELP Please

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with the A/C unit when it will ONLY BLOW air through the floor vents..when you turn the **** to blow through the Dash nothing happens..this is killing my 80 yr old mom...please help..thanks..oh yeah, trucks a 1997

Hey Crewcab, My dads 96 had a simular problem and i found the vacuum hose under the hood near where it enters the firewall burnt from the turbo. I shortened it and routed it up against the firewall and its been fine since. hope this may help.

I second that. It's a vacuum hose problem. The vacuum hose goes into the cab near where the heater hoses go through the firewall. Trace from there back to the vacuum pump.
And yeah, I had the exact same problem Ramfan01's dad had. Dang plastic vacuum line!
