A/C clutch power

After loosing my A/C in a manner that suggested low charge I took my 2006 3500 4X4 Megacab Ram 5.9 4 speed auto to a service shop for recharge. There they diagnosed the problem as low voltage output from the ECM. There fix was a $2400.00 ECM unit. They stated the output voltage to be 6-7 volts not making the threshold 10 to engage the clutch. Anyone else ever encounter low volt ECM outputs? I'm thinking 6 volt relay switching battery power will work but find it hard to believe only 1 output bad as all else seems to function well

Hog ,check it yourself before forking out 2400.00.

unplug clutch (2 prong cable coming from comp coil)harness
drink beer 1st cause you will be laying on your back under truck
turn ign key to on (Truck not running)
turn ac snowflake button on
with a meter check voltge going to TIPM aka computer
10v + good TIPM, if not search threads on relay to up voltage to comp coil, save 2400 and drink more beer.

Good luck.... Boudreaux
