A/C Blows

heys guys, i've been reading about all the a/c issues. my '06 mega was blowing cold but not enough volume, so i had the recirc. door replaced. now i can feel the diff. between norm. a/c and recirc. a/c, but the volume is the same. mine on high feels like another dodge on one speed. any ideas from yall?

Im not saying that this will solve your problem, but I replaced my blower motor and it works great now. 3 (or was it 4?) screws and the electric connection and your done. I have to actually turn the speed down on a hot day....because it gets to cold. That is a nice problem to have around here where we will prob be 100+ the rest of the summer!

I got it from the dealer for $135.00. Wish I had done it a couple of years ago.

look through my posts... i have the fix for you. you need to remove the rear air diverters. it involves pulling the entire dash, just like doing the blend box. you need to access the blend box and cut out the diverter screens. it literally doubled my airflow to the front, and the rear still gets plenty of air. my screens were blocking so much air from going to the front vents, that you could actually feel air coming from the floor vents. let me know if you need mor einfo or can't find my previous posts (last summer) on it. the entire job took about 5 hours. it's plenty easy, just time consuming pulling the dash. i know dodge used to quote 8 hours (warranty) to pull the dash and replace the blend box, but dropped it to 6 hours i think. anyway just plan on a full morning or afternoon. it will make a HUGE difference though.

I suppose if I were you I'd drop the motor, and see if it seems to run at a normal speed when on high.

You could also look for any debris in there, and you can get a good look at the evaporator coils to see if they are clogged. In the past I've put down tarp over the carpet and reached in the motor hole with a garden hose to spray off the evaporator.

I can't assume any liability if you try it, but it worked fine for mine. If you stop spraying when water shows signs of backing up and let it drain, it didn't really get any water on the tarp.

If, on the other hand, the fan runs fine and the evap fins are clear, I'd be wondering about a mode door, or possibly blend door blocking air flow.
