a/c and fan clutch ???
hi all
is there such a thing as a fan clutch for the 12 v engines that engauges at a lower temp to move more air over the a/c condensor ?
my ac goes warm in slow traffic and long stop light waiting , but it cools agin when mooving 20 mph or faster ?
not enough air movement at low speeds !
i have a newer fan clutch but it does not ingauge unless engine temp is app 210* .
rad is clean! not cloged with dirt .
there is a fan clutch for the gassers with snow plow options that engauges at lower temps but it will not fit diesels as it has a right hand thread !!
is there a clutch for diesels for snow plowing options ???
does any one here have a 12v with a plow option ??
thank you !!

Your fan should still be turning. If you have a new fan and you are sure it is not weak than I would be looking to see if the condensor is clean. There is an acid you can buy that sprays right on it and will foam up and release the layer of dirt on it. The dirt acts as an insulator thus the greater airflow would be needed. Restiction in your system or slightly low pressure would also cause the effect you are talking about. The last time I had that problem it was the evaporator that went bad. They last about 5 years on average. As the pressure in the system got lower the a/c would take longer to get cooler and would warm a little sitting in traffic. If you are sure your fan clutch is working and is the standard for the truck then look somewhere else for your problem.
