BullyDog not very impressive

I got tired of the surging problem that Superchips has on their performance setting and bought a TripleDog/Outlook combo to replace. Even with the extreme program loaded it is not even close to the Superchips. I even bought the Quadzilla boost fooler to see if extra boost might bring the TripleDog up to the Superchips performance but still not there. How can 140hp TripleDog be bested by a 100hp Superchips?

I have a test that I do on the way home from work that seems to either prove or disprove performance upgrades. I pull out onto the bypass and nail it to a particular sign which is about an 1/8th mile. With the superchips I can easily get to 87 mph but with the Bullydog I can only get to 82 mph which seems pathetic since I can do 75-77 mph stock. (BTW, I have gone back and forth between the 2 programmers with the same conditions on the same day to alleviate any possible differrences that could effect the performance.)

Has anyone actually dynoed the TripleDog to see if their claims are even close or am I doing something wrong? I am at 4,000ft elevation but it doesn't seem to effect the Superchips. Is there some other product I should try or add to the TripleDog to get some performance?

Should I have gone with the Quadzilla race module?

Not sure but, if the 140hp is making too much power for your transmission you may not be getting all of the power to the ground?

Also, not sure if you are a manual or auto but, I have heard that in some cases less hp programs will run faster because the stock auto will shift better? Now on a dyno that sort of thing may not show up?

Just a thought??

Something sounds wrong. Sounds like pyro defueling. With the 2.3.4 update and Tq management option, the TriDog screams! Even at "stock" the torque is amazing!! Tranny damage can't be far off, cause it'll definitely slip.

Somethings not right here that triple dog should eat that superchip. I would download the crazy larry setting...but after that youll complain about breaking stuff!

Actually it was a little too much for my stock slushbox, so I reloaded the program and answered no this time!

i made 468 hp and 8 something tq with and air box and crazzy larry. it was 17 less hp with triple dog. but the hp and tq curve was way different. the crazzy larry came up alot harder and sooner. i am also using a 6spd. a buddy of mine put a triple dog on his and he has a helper system and snapped his input shaft like a twig. not to mention his convertor was slippin, but he's got a big time lead foot.

It's not pyro defueling and my trans isn't slipping anymore than with the Superchips and maybe even less. The Superchips would go straight to 3100rpm and stay there through all the gears. The BDTD will at least move the needle to below 3000 when it shifts but I think it only does that because it makes less power on my truck. Do you guys think the boost fooler helps at all or should I take it off? Since Superchips does Timing, Duration, Boost and a little Pressure and the BDTD does everything but Boost I thought putting a boost fooler would bring it up to the Superchips level. Thanks for the Help, TJ

I've heard it said that the power comes up quicker several times. I believe that.

rpms sitting at 3100 through 3 gears IS NOT GOOD!

I also agree the Extreme program on the bullydog is a bit weak....it seems a hair above Performance but not much.

Download Crazy Larry and you'll fall in love....or maybe you won't when you will be paying for a new tranny!

The Superchips does boost fooling?? really?? Or is that one of the things they claim it does that it doesn't really do?
