Bully Step Bar Installation Help

2006 Quadcab -
I got the stepsides and went to install them but didn't get too far...I removed the body bolt underneath to attach the mounting bracket and the washer on the mounting bolt is too big to sit flat! Has anyone else had this problem with these steps? I really don't want to alter anything (grind down the washer to just 'make' it fit.

Bully hasn't replied to my messages...

Thanks in advance!
