Bully Dog Triple/Warranty
So I bought a Bully Dog triple from my local dodge dealer.
After reading the user guide and the disclaimer of liability. I am thinking returning it to my dealer.
However the dealer say it will help with gas MPG and options on the truck.
Just wondering if anyone has had warranty issues?

If you do a search, methinks you'll find many, many horror stories about denied or cancelled warranty's. People on here have said many times "if you play you will pay" Also just because the dealer sold it to you, doesn't mean they will stand behind it!

The dealer can get into big trouble from dodge and cummins for selling aftermarket items that WILL void warranty If I was you I would return it or risk losing the warranty on your truck.

Drillpipe, Your ECM died on your 06?
Are you still using you BD.
You see so many people using downloaders its hard not to try one.
I was going to use an quadzilla but you need to put wires througt the fire wall.

You all ready have an auto the gromet is there.. You just push on one side and it folds in and run your wires through and it folds back out... Really simple.. You can also take it out in a flash.. DId mine a block away from the dealer...

Yeah, it went south a couple weeks ago. And no I'm not using it anymore. As soon as I get it back from the shop I plan on trying a Smarty. If your just wanting a little extra power stick with a Quadzilla or something similar. Like Luvnacumns said there is a grommet already there to use, so its a quick and easy install.

Depends who you talk to.
I've read posts on here of people with BD's taking them off, going to the dealer and having their auto tranny rebuilt, other people swear they leave a trace, others who say they got a warning on doing the download to the truck and went ahead with the install anyhow.
From what I've read, if your BD software matches your truck's software their won't be a problem...
BD's have been out a long time, probably the longest of all the programmers, you won't hear stories of good things, only bad experiences possibly from people who didn't take all the precautions to begin with...
... (or that's what I'm hoping anyhow)

Don't take it wrong, I loved the way the BD worked on my truck great power, low EGT, plus all the other options on it. But, I fall into the category of not taking all necessary precautions. I don't blame the BD for my ECM problems either, this is a problem that seems to be cropping up on the 06's from what the tech told me.

i futz'ed my ECM with a BDDL long ago - and BD reloaded it for me.
took it out, shipped it to them, and they redid it for me.
put it in, ran along time.
then had an injector or pump, or something, die,
and the DRB3 could not talk to the ECM.
the dealer could not reload the ECM to stock.
i guess i could have sent the ECM back to BD for another reload,
but it was easier to trade the 04 for an 06.
no BDDL on this one.
i would like a TD to change some settings though, buddy has one he is going to let me borrow.
so yes, a BD does make quick easy power, and yes, it could have problems, but i have only seen ~a dozen on here, out of what, 34000 members?
so i think that goes into "the urban internet myth" category.
buddy had a quad, it died on him once.
it's all mechanical - stuff happens, you play, you pay.
my 06 got romped by a 05 with a bunch of toys on it - do i care?
nope, i am dead reliable, and the dealer can talk to my ECM and fix me under warranty.
my understanding is the STAR line knows what to look for - and they could see if you had a BD reprogram the ECU (this was a year or so ago)
but BD might have newer software now that is undetectable.
i don't care about the warranty to fix the truck,
so much as the ABILITY to fix the truck by talking to the ECM.

Yup, a Bully Dog Power Pup Triple Dog. Had it less than 2 weeks, got it from the classifieds on this site, so far it's been great, really wakes up my 8000 pound beast!
Have not had it to the dealer since the install. I read everything I can on them though, do a search you'll finda lotsa info from knowledgeable people, and no doubt you'll see lots from the "you gotta pay if you're gonna play" folks as well.
