Bully Dog or Edge?

I am in the market for a little more power and definately more mileage. My question is what are your experiences on the Bully Dog Downloader, the Edge EZ and others? I was thinking of a Bully Dog Outlook with either. I want to be able to take the box off if i have to have it in to the dealer, so are either of them untraceable? What is the deal about all the codes with the downloader? Does any one that is a dealer have any new news from edge about the Juice with Attitude? If i go with the Outlook or with for the Attitude are the plug and play or are they drill and tap for the senders? Thanks for all your opinions. I don't want this to start a war I just want honest answers.

Edge is supposed to release the edge juice w attitude this month for the cummins 600. The ez I don't know if there is any traces left behind I did check for codes on my 05 and found no codes with power pup and remember its pretty easy to plug in programmer remove settings. Just leave in outlook its a set of guage's. Both the oulook and attitude have pyro probes so yes you will have to drill and tap. other than that plug n play

Kyle where do you drill and tap? I read someone that said they drilled a pilot nearly thru, and then started the pu and let the exhaust push the shavings out, have you read that? IF that is not the way to go, what do you suggest to be the easiest way to get the job done without taking anything off the truck. Thanks Keith btw i talked to you on the phone earlier in the week i don't know if you remember me or not.

I have the Edge EZ and the BullyDog Power Pup stacked. I ran the Edge EZ for quite a few miles solo, never poped any codes. As far as I know, the dealer can't tell if the Edge was ever on. The Power Pup (downloader), no idea if it is traceable. But my dealer knows what has been done to my truck, so I'm down to a limited warranty, no powertrain. If it were me, and I was towing on a regular basis, I would get an old fashioned EGT temp gauge and install it, just for peace of mind if nothing else. I have heard that the Outlook is sending some bad temp info. But, I would still like one for the adjustability it gives to the downloader.

Oh yea, which tranny do you have? If an auto, and your towing, I would stay with the Edge EZ or similar box. If you have the 6spd, either box should work fine single or stacked. Just watch the Extreme setting on the downloader, it will more then likely slip your clutch.

Cold Diesel,

I have seen a few posts here on this site and over at the TDR. Just relaying what I have read, no intentions of knocking Bully Dog. I use their downloader and am happy with it, and would recommend it.

The outlook has been revised and is alot more accurate I have a big shipment of them and the powerpup in a combo package on the way. I always just remove the turbo especially on a third gen it is farely easy just undo band clamps and unbolt turbo. There is the way you mentioned I did it once and just didnt care for it. I used a pilot hole started truck with tailpipe plugged up but not completely just to increase backpressure and used a really sharp bit for speed and once I drilled through stopped truck. That's just me though I'm sure alot of people in a hurry do it that way I'm just always working on other people's trucks take only safest routes

Bully dog Power Pup

I will sell you my Power Pup for $400 Obo. I have had both the ez and the power pup. I just need the money, so I am going to sell it. I don't pull anything to big, so I don' think I really need it anymore.
