Ft. Polk taught me how to deal with stress. Curl up in a ball and wish I was back home with my Mommy[laugh]!!
What year Bark?
Dad went through Polk in '68. Tigerland, home of the walking dead. That was just before the dropped him in the jungle.

Greetings.
Reading here tells me we all can be very thankful for what we have.
There was a young one lost here recently. Very sad.
Mark, pain is pain...you know it. Sometimes I savor it and let it rip because then when I do have some 'moderate' pain...its cake to deal with it.
I am happy to say that all I take now for meds is a one extra strength tylenol with an Advil about an hour before bed and that will stop soon too.
The meds play their own game on us that I do not like.
enjoy the Phoo00. I found a pleasant aromatic blend of [censored] and [censored] that had such a sweet sweet smell that the bubbling and smoking played no part in considering if its should be brewed or not.
I would suggest full protection and pour it slowly.

Afternoon gang,
Been busy all morning in meetings. Grabbed my ph00 and ran.
Bobby...I have no idea.
Me either - the doc spoke in etherial terms that told me nothing. Maybe he doesn't know either - - that is really an encouraging thought. Hmmm, I want HIM to do the operation. YEH [nonono]
They oughta just exterminate every last one of those dang things.
Hey, stop that. You are trying to kill a memorable part of every year's hunting season. Our first night out is gator tail and swamp cabbage. So, stop it. [dummy]
Bye!
Hi!
As usual, trying to take over the conversation. [dummy]
Not sure if I can describe it very well but here it goes...
At the base of your skull where it attaches to C-1 there are two processes (bumps) on either side of your spine where the tendons that attache your head to your neck are located. If you, or your wife, press on these with pretty firm pressure and rub at the same time. If you have it right, sometimes it takes a minute, you will feel your sinuses draining (at least that's what it feels like).
Having the same problems for several years. My therapist gave me a series of neck stretches that I do most every morning (when I remember it). If I don't, I suddenly realize how much I hurt and stop and do them. Takes about 10 minutes. Sit up very straight, then slowly drop the head to one side toward the shoulder while looking forward - - remain upright in the back. Let it come down until it hurts, then let it hang. About 30 seconds. Do the other side. If needed, gently place your hand on your head and pull slightly - - never too much. Then, let the head come down at a 45 degree angle toward the front still looking forward. Then to the other side helping with the hand if needed. These two positions will make my sinuses feel like they are clearing - - has to be stretching even into them. Then, I have to turn hard right, hold - -then left - - hold. Repeat process. This simple process has kept me away from him now for two years and helps me keep going with minimal pain during the day from the neck.
OK, the doctor is now signing off. Grabbing more ph00. Be good.
Dr. Bobby

I don't agree with that... pain is different. I won't say I've experienced horribly terrible pain, but I've had some good zingers. This stuff is bad, but I've had a lot worse. Really gald to hear you are doing better.

I bet you could google it and find out. Hopefully, this neck pain is only temporary.

Afternooner all!
Got a few hours sleep and now I'm sitting at the courthouse waiting to testify before the grand jury.... Dirtbags should learn to keep thier mouths shut when they are drunk.....but hey, it's more OT for me!
WEAK!!! You got that right[laugh]!
What year Bark?1973.
I am happy to say that all I take now for meds is a one extra strength tylenolFor my broken knee cap I used to take a lot of tylenol with a few drinks at night to get to sleep. Bad idea, that combo almost thrashed my liver.
Still dont know what brought down that C-17 that crashed up here. If it turns out it was bird strikes again I am going to be mad. We lost that AWACS plane with 24 crewmen in 1995 to those geese. Tree huggers dont want us getting rid of the geese but they are not even native to that area. Grrrrr.

This may in fact be true, but it is impossible to measure the speed of something without mass. This is the foundation of his theories and why they breakdown at natures extremes. Physics does not allow for values of infinity, only mathematics does. That is the conundrum we are now facing, reducing infinity to a real, defined number.

But space DOES have mass!
You said the particles within it can't move faster than the speed of light. If you remove the 'particles' you would be left with the space between them.
Once you remove all the particles, or mass, you are unable to measure the 'spaces' speed. Besides, If the space between the particles were moving faster than the particles in it, which can not move faster than the speed of light, you would end up with a very large mass with no space between them, leaving very large conversions of matter with astronomical mass and density. With the absence of space these particles would combine and either erupt in massive explosions or create an area of immense gravitational forces. Maybe that is the real origin of black holes...

'Light' is composed of 'packets of photons which have mass. This was first verified during WWII when an astronomer pointed his telescope at the sun during a full lunar eclipse and was able to view stars which were behind the sun at the time of viewing. The light was bent around the sun proving that gravitational forces acted upon it. This is only possible if the light has mass. The speed of light has since been measured after the lunar landings. They placed a reflector on the moon and measured the time it takes for the reflection. After adjusting for interference from the earths atmosphere it was very accurately determined. It is now done with the use of lasers and crystalline chips which measure changes of frequency resonance inside the crystal as the light passes through it. One of the problems with the speed of light is that since light has mass, it should slow down, but for reasons yet unknown it has a constant speed, which flies in the face of physics. If you pass light through different mediums, it will change speed, but will return to it's original speed once through the mediums which it is passing. No added energy is needed to increase the speed to it's original constant.

Morning all.
Today is Friday, July 30th.
On this day in 1729 - The city of Baltimore was founded in Maryland.
1733 - The first Freemasons lodge opened in what would later become the United States.
1942 - The WAVES were created by legislation signed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The members of the Women's Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service were a part of the U.S. Navy.
1945 - The USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. The ship had just delivered key components of the Hiroshima atomic bomb to the Pacific island of Tinian. Only 316 out of 1,196 men aboard survived the attack.
1956 - The phrase "In God We Trust" was adopted as the U.S. national motto.
1965 - U.S. President Johnson signed into law Social Security Act that established Medicare and Medicaid. It went into effect the following year.
1974 - The U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee voted to impeach President Nixon for blocking the Watergate investigation and for abuse of power.
1975 - Jimmy Hoffa, former Teamsters union president, disappeared in Michigan. His remains were never found.
1990 - The first Saturn automobile rolled off the assembly line.
1996 - A federal law enforcement source said that security guard Richard Jewell had become the focus of the investigation into the bombing at Centennial Olympic Park. Jewell was later cleared as a suspect.

Speaking about my wife. Her birthday is on the 2nd. During all of this mess with my LEGG and with her dad taking ill and the ENTIRE house and yard undergoing major renovations and builds...I managed to sneak out and buy her a new ride.
She has always wanted a JEEP. Not my preference. However, anytime we go past one or see one...any model she rubbernecks. Her favorite version is the Compass.
There will be a full load 2010 4x4 Compass in the driveway at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. :D
I showed her other comparable models and some cool used rigs...nothing lights her up like this rig. I have a neighbor that has one...loves it.
I have a co-worker that HAD a Patriot...HATED it. Hopefully it turns out to be a reliable rig.
Today I have the drywaller returning to sand the final coat for most of the house.

If I go get my knee cut on so I can't work for a few months, can I go out and buy new cars, build garages and have the house remodeled? What happened, big boy? You holding out on us? Came in and decided to swim in the pool rather than working in the yard. It is August in Florida - - wow it is humid. I was dripping water from everywhere - - tee shirt, shorts, nose, head band wrung out repeatedly. Amazing how much water you can sweat out. Must have lost five pounds of water.

Well, first off, tell Megs happy birthday from both of us. Now, second, what has happened? If I go get my knee cut on so I can't work for a few months, can I go out and buy new cars, build garages and have the house remodeled? What happened, big boy? You holding out on us? You hit the Lotto and are not sharing - - shame all over you. [dummy]:o[laugh]

No Lotto. Its been a gameplan for 3 yrs that we saved up for and then a few items I have been addressing all came to fruition for us this summer.
Its a real big frustration not being able to get involved the way I want with all that is going on. Slow but sure is working well.
Long term plan has started to work out.
We Be Greatful.

Just back from the eye doctor. She found a metal shard about half the thickness of a hair lodged between my eye lid and eye ball. No wonder it still hurt. Skin had started to grow over it in just 2 days. Lotsa fun digging it out. [yuk] Feels better now tho, so it's time to go WELD!

And that is why we wear PPE!I DO wear PPE. I WAS wearing PPE the day it got in my eye. It must've been stuck somewhere else and fell into my eye after the fact, because I was sitting right here at 11 PM, reading email when it started to hurt. Dr said it was probably in my eyebrow or sitting on my eye lash.
I s'pose NOW you'll want me to shave off my eye brows and eye lashes, right?

Blake - that hurts man... Although comments like that are expected...
Fur Ball - Vacuum, works most every time. FWIW, I watched a metal shard from a belt sander go under my face shield, take a 'magic bullet' mid air turn, bounce off my cheek, off the back of my safety glasses and into my eye. Not sure to this day why I watched it, It was kinda like a slow motion movie.

and she wants to know if Jake is Okay...OK, since you mentioned Jake you obviously are talking about Scott, not us. You may remain here for a bit longer.
Waiting on the wife to get back, she wants to go to Lowe's with me. Got both ends dug up and broke loose. Once again, our "Larry" strikes again. His choice of supply line was that recalled black plastic crap.[verymad] On the meter end he's got it clamped to a piece of copper so that shouldn't be too bad to fix but, at the house it goes from black plastic to galvanized to a threaded copper nipple to thin wall copper. I really need to drill through the footing and replace the whole wad at once but I'm not sure I can tackle it all today. May just have to replace the main and save the other part for another day.
Oh, one other thing "Larry" did. To help protect the plumbing connection at the house (guess he knows his own work) he covered the first 2 feet of pipe with two pieces of galvanized tin. That in it's self wasn't a bad thing but......he held the tin up by laying it over two pieces of landscape timber. Anybody want to guess who was living in the rotted landscape timber?

Hey man, you grabbed Scott's song - - he loves that thing - - by the way, his is pink - - mine is manly deep blue (I think, can't remember). Sounds just like him in the description. [laugh]
OK, grabbed some ph00 and in the gaaarage.

Well, getting the bags packed and ready for tomorrow. We set off at 9:00am tomorrow for our annual week long motorcycle trip. We're heading off to Nashville then over to Cherokee, NC for the rest of the week. Should have some good stories to tell when I get back.
Keep the coffee going. Never know when I just might drop in.

You could be here helping me with this water line. Humidity is only about 80% right now.:(
I feel bad for you, buddy. It's pretty nice here right now... probably 87 or so, low humidity, maybe 20%, and very overcast.

Ok, back from the house move, not too bad. We had a lot of guys show up, we got 90% of it in one shot. We had a pretty good convoy going down the road.
Ok, gotta find stuff to do. Later.

Have a safe ride Eric and enjoy yourself a little. Oh, don't forget, a good snack to pack on the bike is fresh chicken. It stays fresh for hours in the sun so no worries.;)[whistle]

Afternooner all!
Hot here too Blake. 80*+ late in the season for those temps up here. Forcast says more of the Sam for the next 3-4 days too.
Got the truck and Mama's T&C washed then played with my IP a bit more. I need more turbo......:( :D
Cleaned out the kids closets for an upcoming garage sale. They have WAAAAAY to much stuff. Swore I'd never spoil my kids.....oops[redface]
Got some moose backstrap thawing to put on the grill for dinner tonight. Gonna be great. I've been working with the chuck lately and it comes out pretty good so this backstrap is gonna be phenomenal!
While that's thawing, I think MMa and I are gonna take the kids over to the migratory waterfowl refuge and take the boardwalk through the boreal forest. Pretty cool back there and a decent walk with kids.
Looks like some new old faces popped up in here. Welcome back! Stay a while. It's not like the smell in here has changed any.
Bark, Lovely ladies I see! , that sheep pic was the cat's pj's.
BAAAAaaaDActually, its the same girl. She just cleans up nice.

Evening everybody. I'm going to have to steal one of Mark's quaint phrases. I think I'm seriously falling into the 'broke off' crowd tonight. That water line really worked me over good today. Over all, it wasn't bad but it stretched out to 10 hours from start to finish. I'm just tired. I left the trench open until tomorrow just to make sure I don't have a problem. I'll cover it in the morning if it's still dry.

WOW, don't everybody leave at once!!!
Just got off the phone with a guy who wants me to give his company a call. Not real happy with the one I am with right now. More of a consulting type deal. Took the last few hours to get my resume together. Great opportunity, but from what I understand it is VERY difficult to get on with them. Gotta take a chance though.
I was told that my past experience with appraisal consulting, report preparation, business ownership and current data analysis is what they are looking for. Only down side is I only have two years of rig experience. Lots of homework to do...
Oh ya, hey Mark, the saying goes if you want it to rain, step on a cricket. Just make sure you get a vid of the massacre when you are dancin and hopping around the yard. Might get you 10k on TV. [laugh][laugh]
