Good Afternoon to Everyone,

I just bought a 1995 Dodge Ram Lariet SLT 4x4 Automatic with 125,000 on it (my first diesel), and I just love it. I am a brand new member to the DTR site and am enjoying reading all the articles. Can you tell me if there are any unexpected suprises that are gonna jump up and scare the heck out of me? I am already getting kind of leary about the tranny????

I would appreciate any and all help that any of you can pass on to me. I really am enjoying this site, keep up the good work and conversation.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Welcome to the site Bill! We are glad to have you aboard.
The tranny is an issue but if you are easy on it, not so much so. I think most the damage get's done by jumping on it from a standstill, or by overheating it towing in overdrive.
Lot's of other little stuff that can be a problem like any other vehicle but overall that Cummins of yours is just getting broke in.
Any questions feel free to speak up and of course join any of the other threads when you can.
Again Welcome! and BTW hide your wallet! That bombing bug is running loose around here! ;D

The biggy is the front cover dowel pin works loose and does damage...there is a ez fix at the TDR site its a tool that drills and then a locking bolt is the installed to stop the pin from comming out
check this link for a fix after its too late

A few site safety tips:

Keep a roll of T-paper near the computer to keep all the sheep and penguin doo doo wiped off the screen.

Set your fax machine (FOOD / PAPER) switch to (FOOD) before Huey faxes doughnuts to you too.

Invest in some heavy duty blast shields for the computer screen. You will see why in a few days.

Don't talk real loud about explosives around Top, he gets spooky.

Ignore Hoss or anything associated with the name.

That's all for now, enjoy the site and have a good time. You'll find it's a very clean site and we have a lot of fun.

(looks around to make sure top is not sneaking up behind me)

Thanks Very Much To All of You,

You'll find that I'll probably have a lot of dumb questions, BUT, they are (not so dumb) but important to me. I think sooooo much of this truck, that I want to do what's right to keep it on the "up" side. So, if I send dumb questions, I will try and keep them to a minimum.
Once again, Thanks to all.

Grampaw Bill :)

Hey Grampaw,
What's for supper?
Bet you never heard that before.
Anyone know what show that came from?
Gotta call you on a technicality, DD. ::) ;D It was "Hey, Grandpa, what's for supper?" It was "HeeHaw", of course! Grandpa Jones passed away a few years back.

I didn't think so. Would be a killer trip though. Been as far west as Iowa, I am going to go cross one day. Want to get out there and see those giant trees in the north east. Can't imagine something that big and the history they've seen.
