Brakes
Brakes
Please Help!!!I have had my 1995 Dodge Ram Diesel 2500 in the shop for two weeks and they are unable to fix the problem.....Have a new vacumn pump, new booster and it has not fixed the problem. After two brakes presses you lose your power brakes. The ABS light and the brake light come on. It has gotten worse with time and now the cruise control is not working. The dealer says it is because of low vacumn. The truck has been at the dodge dealer and they are stumped...Please help.
I just had all of my brakes replaced the other day. I had the drums, roter, calapers, pads, shoes, master cylinder all replaced with new parts. Also took the ABS rear wheel valve out and had an adapter made so the two different sized brake line fittings fit into it. Dodge wanted $280.00 for a new valve the adapter cost $80.00. I didn't need it because I'm using the rear wheel senser to run my speedometer and cruz. It was around $1480.00, but now she stops on a dime and gives me 9.5 cents back in change. Just to have to be careful when I need to stop real fast. Rear wheels will lock up, but with the trailer on it won't. I hope...
Oh, My real wheel ABS valve was bad also that is what the guy at the shop said and that would cause the brake peddel to go down to the floor when I held my foot on it for awhile. My brake light would also come. Hope that gives you something to think about changing also. When I had the adapter made I took the ABS rear wheel valve to them so they could see how the adapter needed to me made.
Thank you very much for your reply. We found a reply on the chat room that fixed the problem. I found a broken vacuum line under the left side battery. Replaced the line and all is well. Thanks to the chat room!
