Brake question

At idle speed my rear brakes will lock up unless you hit the brakes REALLY lightly. It's really annoying going throught a parking lot and tapping the brake pedal and locking the rears.

I saw a post on the 12v forum that mentioned a "Rear Brake Proportioning Valve". About a week ago I did notice a small rod just above the axle on the driver's side that was disconnected. I reconnected it to its proper location, but it wasn't held in there very tightly. I haven't driven the truck all week, so I don't know if this helped. I won't be able to check it out until tonight, but I just wanted to gather some more info on this thing before I go home tonight. Do you think the disconnected rod was the cause of my problem, as it thought the truck was fully loaded??

Thanks
Brad
