Well gents the other day it finally got pretty darn cold here in MD. The am temp was around 14*F. I had left it plugged in but forgot to plug the other end in. So I was starting her cold. Cycled the key, hit it and she started right up, no problems. I left it run for a few minutes then hopped in to head to work.

Upon applying the brake and putting it in gear, I was hearing groaning noises which I thought were the power steering pump. This was confirmed when making a turn out of the driveway, power steering pump was groaning again.

My thought, oh well its cold after she warms up she'll get quiet which it did.

On my way home from work that evening I had to make a hurried stop (not quite panic but I punched the brake pedal hard) and noticed it now seems to stick a bit right at the top. This only happens if I push it quick, normal braking seems fine.

Brakes seem to be working just fine, but the pedal sticks a bit.

Could the cold (or too cold) fluid have done something to my hydroboost, master cylinder or does it just sound like coincidence and perhaps my caliper is sticking?

Any thoughts? I did service the brakes a few months ago and everything was free and working beautifully until this recent cold snap.

What do you mean by service brakes ?
What most do not do is flush the system when you change pads and/or shoes .
Or every 20,000-30,000 miles , brake fluid is hydroscpic [ sucks moisture out of the air ] then that water can freeze , also with out any flushing of system , it gets slug & rust .

I didn't do a fluid change, just turn rotors, replace pads, lube up the slides and all.

Sounds feasible that the H2O was freezing in the fluid and causing the noise? Damaged something in the process?
