Brake Pedal issues

Okay so after getting my exhaust finished up saturday i drove the truck around no problems, didnt drive it any sunday so this morning i get up to go to work and drive about 5 miles to the gas station to get my morning wake-me-up, go to pull out of there and the brakes apply themselves and im at a dead stop. Take my foot and pull up on the pedal and they release and im on my way. Pull up to stop light happens again, so i pull it up with my foot it releases and on my way again this continued all the way to work. So my question is why is the pedal not releasing itself?
