Brake pads
What pads have you used with the most success. I used a set of NAPA pads on my 98.5 sheared off the friction pad and ate my rotor before I could get it off the road.

Wow,
Some of my friends swear by that place, I’ve never used the pads! I usually go with a premium pad from the local performance shop. No brand specific, just the "premium" pad. I'm in the middle of replacing a rear caliper do to a seized piston. I'm thinking about trying the new "EBC Low Dust Greenstuff 7000 Series". It has some type of surface coating that helps with the "break-in" of the pads? Unless I hear something bad about them I'll let you know how they turn out. From experience stay away from the high percentage of ceramic composite that some makers use, they’ll eat your rotors up in no time flat!

Thats the problem with "Preminum" pads...they eat your rotors fast. Personally, Id much rather replace the pads than replace the rotors. I just get the nn ceramic medium priced pads.
An exhaust brake really saves wear and tear on the pads.

get oem quality pads, i am on my second set at 177000 miles,original rotors

I mean the friction material on the pad that makes contact with the rotor. It sheared off placeing metal to metal. I was in the middle of town with 17 round bales of hay on a 30 foot flatbed in summer, had to drive on home using the trailer brakes to get the hay up in case of a shower.

I could never keep pads on my truck until I discovered the Napa "Fleet" pads. They are great pads & nice pedal feel.....You will probably have to special order them, but they are worth the wait. I believe they were even a little cheaper than golds.

I prefer the raybestos that CSK auto stores sell. Nothing too fancy just a mid priced standard quality set of pads. Higher price doesnt always mean better. If they are too stout with no give, they just rip up the rotors
