I could use advice on what type of brake pads and type of rotors to use. I am using a 5500 dually 2 wheel to tow a large 5th wheel, and want to get best types running a stock 2005 2 wheel drive dually thanks in advance to all

This will be a difficult question to answer because everyone will drive differently. I have hauled loads that should not have been on a 1ton and have really had no problems from my brakes but I’m fairly easy on the stopping and don’t use the brakes hard .Others may not start stopping as early and need better braking power.
With this said I have not found anything wrong with NAPA pads or the OEM replacement rotors.
But then on my 02 I had 220K and had put brakes pads on the front only once.

For rotors, use a quality stock replacement. No holes, dimples, or slots.

For pads, I would use Performance Friction carbon metallic. Excellent brake feel and performance, low dust, quiet, and inexpensive. They're usually available over the counter at Autozone.

Heat is the big killer of brakes. Their job is to turn rotational energy in to heat energy. Getting rid of the heat is crucial for good performance. For best results, fab a simple set of brake ducts to direct cooler air directly in to the center of the rotor.
