brake lights stay on

Hey guys, i have a 97 3500 gas job that the brake lights always stay on. The problem is that the brake pedal sags and hits the brake light switch. How do i fix this?
thanks

I believe you can fix it with a new brake light switch. I got mine at Auto Zone for $15 and you have to preset it to your truck so it should take up the slack. Its worth a try just follow the instructions.

Sometimes you can adjust your existing brake switch without buying a new one. Have done that a time or two. I thing the procedure could be found with a search here, but as I recall I lifted my brake pedal up and then pulled the switch trigger up a couple of clicks towards the pedal. Brake lights were staying on and cruise wouldn't work prior to the adjustment. You can search on the cruise topic also and find some info on adjusting the brake switch

Sounds like you have more than a switch problem.
Perhaps the pedal return spring is broken.
