Brake issue? I think...
I'm looking for answers as to why my brakes seem to be engaged even though the e brake is off. The truck seems to react as normal in reverse, however, when I put it in drive there is a lot of resistance like the brake is on. This just started occurring since the cooler temps overnight. Any ideas from veteran 1st gen owners?

Try loosening a bleeder screw and then tighten it back up then without touching the brakes see if the drag is still there. If it goes away you probably have a bad brake hose.

jack up each wheel and see whats spinning and whats not. It could be a an issue with broken brake hardware, a froze up wheel cylinder, a stuck caliper, frozen e brake cable and more. when you are moving forward does it pull to one side or the other?

They might grab, but if they're coated in fluid are they going to actually do anything? No more friction if they're covered in oil, no? But, I've been known to be well wrong before. I'm thinking either a return spring isn't doing it's job, or there's a problem with the parking brake not releasing. The front pad is hanging up but the back pad is free, so in reverse the front pad isn't energising on the drum.
