If your truck has the tow package, as most of them do, then it's really simple. There should be a 4 pin connector under the dash for the brake controller. At new, there should have been a matching connector pigtail waiting in the glovebox.

if there isn't a factory pigtail, you can usually order one designed for your truck and the new controller. they are reasonably priced.
i purchased my controller and pigtail from PPL motorhomes there in Huston. Since you live there, if you haven't shopped in their toy store 10777 Southwest Freeway you might try it out.
their phone number is 713-988-5555

Not wanting to drop $350, I went with the Valley Odyssey II from Southwest Wheel. It's been great for me.

If you have the tow package you'll find a small blue connector up under the dash near your e-brake. You'll need the connector for a Dodge to plug into it, then just butt connect to the brake controller. Most companies that sell brake controllers sell the plug that goes into the connector under the dash. I think it cost me $7 bucks or so...
