brake clips and weld wheels

got my welds on today, now i will list all my problems i ran into. you would assume a 16x8 wheel with like 4 or 5 inches of back spacing would fit, nope, had to beat the brake clips down around the calipers, wow that is a safe way to hold calipers on, sheet tin, i prefer big bolts, also, most aluminum wheels can take factory lugnuts, these can but not very well, tore them up a little bit, i will eventually pay the boy the 250 he wants for them, he didnt care i scratched them, they aint the best but look good on the truck, i am going to buy aftermarket lugnuts next week probably, another problem, the bolt on center caps dont fit over dana 70 hubs. i am probably going to swap over to slip in Eagle or AR centers with cheap lugnuts, also the wheel dont fit over the 2WD front hubs the best, kinda tight. i figure all you guys would like to know this just in case you get a deal on the set.

front hubs, brake hat, stud mounting surface, whatever you want to call it, they are tight, you have to kick the tire to get them off. i will get some after i get my front bumper fixed, had a little run in with a short fence post.

Weld has two different bolt on covers, you need the deep ones for the rears. As far as lugnuts, go to your local tire and wheel dealer and get the 1/2 inch ET lugnut. It has a shank that is about 3/4 of an inch long with the top half being of the acorn persuasion so you get a little more bite on the stud. On the fronts you may have to chamfer the inside edge of the center opening to achieve a better fit. You should have plenty of material to work with since you only need to take off .125 or so.
