Boy, don't I feel dumb

I had the thread last week where I was stressing over my rear end and springs. Well I went to pick up my camper yesterday and the truck only squatted about an inch, maybe 1 1/2. It actually leveled it out.

On the way back(140 miles), I could hardly even feel it back there. I got 23.1 mpg going and 17.4 coming back. Pretty crazy that this truck gets better mileage with 2K lbs in the bed than my Z71 gets on it's best day downhill with a tailwind!

There are a couple of problems though. There was a knock or bang from the front end when I hit certain bumps. I heard it maybe 6 times the whole way back so its not all bumps, just certain ones like going across a bridge how you get that bounce going, and then it would bang at the transition bump back to normal road. My dad had a cherokee that wore out the bump stop and started banging the sway bar with the lower ball joint or control arm or something like that. Anyways, it's a very similar sound. I could also feel some sloppy wobble but only at certain speeds. Empty, the truck rides fine. What might cause this?

Now here is the one that really boggled my brain. Coming off the hwy and dropping from 65 to 45-50, I get a deafening low hum. It's weird, but it wasn't really loud, it just seems to be at just the right frequency that it creates a harmonic or something. Kind of like the opera singer breaking a crystal glass. It vibrates my whole head and is extremely uncomfortable but the truck itself isn't vibrating. I can't feel it in my hands on the wheel. I tried turning off the OD, no help. Could it be the tires? It doesn't do it 'around town', only after hwy driving for a while.

Have a slight hum at certain speeds on the highway. I think it's the torque converter for me.

Could be control arm bushings,

The hum could be bearings in the rear

the hum I think could just be exhaust note. Mine does it at certian RPM with and with out load. The thump could be a shock. that's the cheap fix. does it pop when you turned or any bump?

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'll check the shocks and control arms today. All of the front end bars/arms are very greasy but I did notice a clean(er) spot and new part on the pas side. a bar comes from each side by the sway bar and goes forward to connect to frame. There is a clamp type thing at the wheel end that is new. Anyone know what this for?

As far as the hum, yesterday a semi drove by and downshifted right by the house. That sound their engine makes when slowing down is very similar to my hum.
