Bought my first Dodge
Bought a 2004.5 CC SB 4x4 3500 Auto a little bit ago and just wanted to say hello. After having owned and driven Ford trucks for several years it feels a little weird driving another brand. We still own a 1993 F250 w/ the 7.3L and she has about 271K on her but I recently sold the 2003 Excursion w/ the 7.3L and also owned a 2003 F250 w/ the 6.0L bought new in 2003 and sold her for the Ex. I had really good luck w/ my Fords....Yes even the 6.oh
So far the Dodge seems good. I dont think the interior is as nice (my doors rattle and squeak like no ones business as the Fords and the seats aren't nearly as comfortable but I filled up again yesterday and I must say on winter fuel and an honest hand calculated filled to the same spot in the fill neck I got 17.91 mostly highway w/ some stop and go short trip stuff mixed in......The best my 7.3L Excursion did was 18.67 (dp tuner 80E) just about all highway miles 85% or so.... so looks like I have something to shoot for. My 6.0L 1 tank full miraculously got approx 20 MPG but I no longer have the data for that truck...I was never able to duplicate that tank and it was all highway grandpa driving from what I do recall as it stood out in my mind...Must have had a 50mph tailwind. It shortly after got lifted and 35's and hovered around low 14's most of the time from what I recall.
So with that being said I am pretty excited and as much as I have told myself I am not going to mess with this truck the numbers you all are getting w/ relative ease are mind blowing. My truck does have a 2" level lift done by Schwab from previous owner. The ride seems pretty good so I dont think I will mess with that...maybe Billsteins though??
Anyway I'll shut up now and get back to reading past posts.

Congrats on the new ride C!
It is inevitable that you will "mess" with the truck. It's in our blood bro!
Put yourself together a signature line when you get some time and again,
Welcome!

Do you have the honk recall. I mean does your trucks horn go off if you put in reverse with door open? I thought that was only on th 06 and newer. Man my truck will never see the inside of a Dealer as long as I own it. Thats one virus I don't want.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes my truck door open in reverse goes HONK HONK....Annoying as h$ll but considering there is nothing I can do about it (short of maybe disconnecting the door switch...havent looked into it) I am not worried too about it....
Oh and Radman you're right ....Told myself thats it I am leaving this one stock...Already noticing H2 wheels fit and seeing whos Cat has fallen of while driving .....
Dont even get me started on wanting to add gauges so I can add a Smarty....
Thats it I am leaving this one stock.....yeah right...I guess there are worse problems to have.
Heres a pic of the 2003 Excursion...Great rig but I did miss having a bed. Still like seeing pictures of her though. I was please w/ how she turned out.

Im one of those people who said they would keep it stock and actually stuck to it. But...I have to admit, when my warranty runs out it will be tempting. Enjoy the new truck. If you hear squeaks and rattles, just push down farther on the throttle and listen to the Cummins instead

I think I can take the door apart and use a thin strip of adhesive foam where the door panel seats w/ the actual sheet metal of the door and this should give me a better door panel to door seal and reduce the noise altogether. Minor stuff really.

I have just bought a 04.5 QC 4x4 and I will pick it up on the 18th from Colorado where my brother works. I am already going to do exhaust, cool air and a power puck. That is just cool.

Thanks guys. Like I said I am finding I cant pull myself away from wanting to do stuff to this truck!!!
I am baby stepping the process though. Fighting it all the way but the truck is already winning.
Just bought an RB1 and picking up the XM adapter for it. Nav, XM and ipod later....
Wonder how hard it will be to put a steering wheel w/ controls in this truck? Miss the steering wheel controls.
Time to start searching
