boost ....

does more boost equal more turbo whistle ?? also how do u gain more boost...boost elbow or can u adjust the wastegate ??? if the wasegate.....how do u do it ?? thanks, scott

More boost does not equate to a lot more turbo whistle. Mine seems to have to loudest whistle at 2-3 psi. It's just a higher pitch at the higher boost levels. You can reach higher boost levels by going with the adjustable elbow so that the wastegate doesn't open as soon. That's probably easier than trying to adjust the 'gate. If you are just looking for the whistle, try removing the silencer ring on the turbo intake or change to a BHAF or K&N filter. That will give you all the whistle you want.

Don't forget that if you increase boost above stock levels (approx 20psi) you will set an overboost code and cause defueling without some type of boost fooler or fueling box with it built in. If you have a stick a boost elbow works easy. If you have an auto (hardlined wastegate) it is a little more involved but still not hard. The auto will require a J-hook, j-hook and spring, I think edge has a piece that works like the boost elbow or you might try looking at Turbomaster they have an adjustable unit for sticks or auto's though I have not used one.
