Boost

Does any one know how high the boost gauge goes up to on the Bully Dog outlook monitior. I got the gz fooler in the mail and I'm hoping It doesn't fool my outlook as well.

The outlook plugs into the ODB port so it essentially reads exactly what the computer reads thus adding a boost fooler means your outlook isn't going to the a true reading.

our DTR friend speaks the truth

the Map sensor is only accurate to 41psi anyway....

mechanical gauge is the only way to go IMO

I guess new gauges just move their way to the top of my list. Do I have to tap a new sensor or can I come off the factory sensor to a new gauge?

Just buy a boost bolt from Geno's Garage if you're buying a new mechanical gauge and just remove one of the bolts described in the instructions for the boost bolt. Very easy and clean install...many DTR members are using this setup I believe...

Boost bolt work but if you have a 5/16 drill bit ant 1/8" tap it takes two minutes to remove the intake and drill and tap.. I ordered the boost bolt and they sent me the banjo bolt! So I ran to town and got a bit and tap.. All done. Just remember to tighen it all back up. I forgot to snup the intercooler boot and started to build boost and bam.. Blew her right off..

My outlook monitor has a connection that goes to the map sensor. I think this intercepts the signal from the map sensor before it goes to the ECM. Can't you plug the fooler into the connection between the outlook connector and the plug going to the ECM and keep the same boost reading on the outlook? I would think that would work without fooling the signal going to the outlook.

I'll get it next week and see what it's all about.

Just got it , the fooler works. Outlook monitor is all mixed up though. The Monitor doesn't plug into the same plugs as the QZ so I can't run them in line.

If you want to stay digital look at the Commander. It will read boost up to about 44psi on average and the fooler will not mess it up.
