Boost gauge HELP

Stupid question, I im in the process of installing a boost gauge. I have everything plumbed up, but when I ran the truck the gauge didn't work. Come to find out the gauge works on pressure not vacuum. I installed on the 1/8 fitting on the intake. Am I doing soming wrong?

Do you mean it reads nothing at idle?
You wont register any boost readings with out load.

No, I put a hand held vacuum pump on it and nothing. I did this after I started it and revved it up with no boost showing on the gauge

Should be between the CAC an intake manifold. I just put a boost gauge on the weekend and I drilled and tapped the cross over. This is the part the dip stick tube is bolted to.

Here is a dumb question. Is boost vacuum or pressure? If it's vacuum than the gauge I have is bad and I am driving my self nuts for nothing. Just so you know you are saving my sanity. Thanks
