boost fooler

how exactly does a boost fooler work and is it something good to have? i dont have a programmer or anything yet but plan on getting a smarty after i get the money up for it. will it help out for now on my pretty much stock truck

essentially the boost fooler works by "fooling" the ecm from the signal sent to it by the MAP sensor. This allows you to run more boost than stock without setting an overboost code because the ecm now thinks you are making less boost that what you really are. It will absolutely help with any box/programmer that does not do its own fooling. It will help only a little bit on a stock truck to the extent the stock fueling will allow you to spin the turbo that much more. I think it's a good thing to have in your back pocket for when when you need it in the future, but not absolutely necessary where you are at right now.

I am running the Xzillarator Race Box which I am told does boost fooling. Before the box I would see 28PSI tops on my analog gauge. Now I can peg 35+ quick!

I think the beta versions do, I am not sure about the published versions. I had the quad boost fooler before the smarty so I never knew the difference.

and one more thing. does it really lower exhaust temps like it says?
