boost fooler and outlook monitor

i am running the bd outlook monitor and triple dog. the most psi i ever had is 26 ,that was even on crazy larry. i would like to get a boost fooler but that plugs into the map sensor. the outlook also plugs in to the map sensor to read the boost. i don't want to loose the outlook. should i use a stand alone boost guage? also what is a pressure box? looking for advice new to DTR. thanks!

Well, there has been some debate about what the Outook does to the MAP sensor and some people have said it does really weird things.

The first thing I think we need to get someone to try is to unplug the MAP sensor portion of the Outlook and see what happens. I am pretty sure they are only using this to do some sort of MAP sensor manipulation and they do NOT read boost from there. I also know they do not get power from it so I am thinking everything will be ok. I think they try to do something with the MAP to defuel the truck by making it think the boost numbers are way out of whack???

The next problem is that the Outlook reads boost off of the data bus which will be "fooled" once you get a boost fooler on it.

So if you want to read real boost numbers you need to get an analog gauge or you need to switch to a different digital monitor.

A "pressure box" is a module that alters the fuel rail pressure to make horsepower. A lot of people stack pressure boxes with downloaders or other modules that do duration to compensate for the drop in pressure when you start stretching the pulse width. This adds a good amount of horsepower, typically lowers WOT egt's and cleans the smoke up a little bit. Also some pressure modules have a built in boost fooler.

You can look at the XZT modules but, they require you to order them with a special software version to be pressure only so they stack better. It has boost fooling built in as well.
