Question Boost Fooler for 2000 5.9L

Does anyone know anything bout the Quadzilla boost fooler for a 2000 Dodge diesel? I just added a new VP44, an Airdog 150, Edge Comp, and S&B Cold air intake. Does this boost fooler even work?

I thought I would need the Quadzilla when I plugged the wastegate line but even with my mods I haven't set a code yet. Unless you are going with bigger injectors for more fuel, you probably don't need one. Just run it for a while first and see if you even need to spend the extra money. I know if I don't set any codes, I'll save my money.

Your Comp does Boost Fooling. No need for anything else. Make sure you have the boost elbow installed.

Are you talking bout that brass boost elbow that mounts on the turbo? I think I saw that on the Thoroughbred Diesel website. What exactly does that do? Is it really something that I should look in to?

if you have a Comp, it does the boost fooling for you, so having another boost fooler is useless. if your PCM/ECM sees more than 20(ish)psi it will start defueling the truck and you will loose power, so the boost fooler or chip will trick the ECM into thinking that its seeing less than 20psi even though you could be making 30+psi

The turbo has an actuator on the side of it that opens the wastegate when boost is applied to it. its basically a spring loaded can with a diaphram inside.
by limiting the amount of air(boost) going into the actuator you trick it into making more boost than its susposed to,(really changing at what psi it will open the wastegate) basically if you removed the line to the actuator and plugged it off, your wategate would not open and you could in theory make unlimited boost...BUT the exhaust gasses will edventually push the wastegate open and drop the boost again, on my truck my wastegate is blown open at 20psi even with the line plugged and not hooked up. I have the gate wired shut and can just make 30psi with 80hp inj and the Edge on 5x5.
they say 32-35 is the most you should push the stock turbo (hy or HX) anything more is pushing it past its effective/safe limits.
