boost elbow question
Hey guys, I am looking to get a boost elbow for my stock turbo. Can I find these at a local hardware store or are these a custom made, must order online type of thing? If you can find it locally, what are the dimensions, ie. size pipe thread, length of male hose connector, etc.
Thanks

You can make your own by drilling the end of the stock boost elbow and threading a set screw.
Or you can buy one off of ebay for around $20 like I did.

Don't think so. You can get a set screw from there though.
Here's one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DODGE...spagenameZWDVW

Alright. Thanks for the help Mike. I was just feeling bored and thought that this would be a project I could get done today yet, but not if I can't get the part.

If you already have the tap, set screw, drill bit... It takes all of about 20 minutes to do.
For the time it would take to go to the hardware store to get the "part", and install it, you are only adding the time to drill and tap the existing elbow which is less than 5 minutes.

The best and most accurate way I know of is to remove the boost elbow, attach to air gun off air compressor, set air compressor regulator to desired psi you wish wastegate to open, attach the hose going to the wastegate actuator, cycle the air gun off/on while adjusting the set screw until wastegate actuator no longer opens, then back off set screw until it does open and function reliably... reinstall boost elbow.
