Boost and Fuel ?'s

I am still driving the truck in my sig and when driving the truck empty or loaded the truck will not get over 40 lbs of boost. It shoots right up to 40 lbs pretty quick really but it seems when it gets there that is just it. It also really doesn't matter if you are at 3200rpm or 2600rpm either. I put in new autometer gauges and I'm getting around 8 to 10 psi out of the bottom turbo. The top is a s300 62 inducer and 60 exhaust do not know the size of the housing b/c all of the casting marks are ground off before I bought it. The bottom is a s400 w/ a 26 cm housing. I'm wondering if 1, I'm running out of fuel b/c of the HO pump. 2 I'm putting in 150 DDP injectors to help w/ the fuel, 3 I'm not running a waste gate so maybe thats it, or 4 my intercooler will not let more than that through. I don't know but any help would be great.

I would guess 40 psi is about right for your HP level. With the HO pump your probably just over 400 hp. Ever Dyno?
I daily drive around 425 hp and only hit 45 psi boost.
At 550+ hp I get 60+ psi
No - wastegate and your intercooler have nothing to do with it. You just need more fuel = more hp = more boost.
HO pump will kill any chances of much over 450 hp, I believe. Injectors will help a lot.
SO pump will make all the difference.

Which B-1 do you have on top? There were 4 variations.

The B1 is a 62mm inducer and a 60mm exhaust, I do not know what the housing b/c all of the casting marks are ground off of it when I bought it. I was thinking the same thing about the HO pump not being able to support enough fuel, but if I would go to a SO pump do I just bolt it on or do I have to change the ECM. I also thought about going to a P-Pump and be done with it but I do not know how that would work but it seems a lot of people have done it and liked it. I have been told that the street manners are not as good as a VP?

An SO pump just replaces the HO one. Nothing tricky. Makes a big difference. So pump works well with the HO ECM but not the other way around!
The P-pump will eliminate the VP problem of dying every 100,000 - 200,000 miles but I consider it a step backwards..... and expensive. Only real value is if you are going for really big HP...Say over 700.
Sending you a PM with a question on your B-1.

Well I guess the next thing is if I would keep the VP pump should I be switching to the quadzilla or stack a smarty with my edge?

Hush your mouth! step backwards my .......

What he said about the HO pump.. I ran twins with some 150 sticks and had issues getting to 500hp. Swap to SO pump and was able to get to 600 pretty easily...

Now I dont have to deal with all the electronic stuff... My foot decides the fuel, sitting at 570hp now...

If serious about a P7100 swap find a used motor with the pump you want and buy it... Use the parts you need and sell off the rest... After selling all of my parts (2 month process) I came out even on the deal $0.00

With 100HP FireBalls and a Juice I see over 60PSI.

What is the bottom turbo making for boost? The top turbo may need an external gate to get out of the way of the exhaust.

I have been wanting to put a p-pump on my truck for a long time, but have always been told that it was to cost effective. I farm and own my own cnc machine shop so I would be doing all of the work myself and making all of the brackets myself. If I thought that I could put that in and break even and just be out my time I would say that is a pretty good deal. I also like the sound of just bolting up an SO pump but always worry about how long they are going to hold up.

The bottom turbo is making between 8 to 10 lbs of boost when the the combined boost is at 40 to 42 lbs.

You are not driving the bottom charger hard enough. If you had a waste gate on top. I would tell you loosen it up a bit.

Most likely, you are going to need a waste gate to get this setup properly. You can swap to a different gated turbo or drop in an external gate. The top turbo is just acting like an exhaust brake. I'll bet you drive pressures are very high at the manifold and probably nil at the bottom charger.

Or just more fuel....No?
Those B-1/B-2 twins have worked well for a lot of years... but I believe there is a narrow sweet spot,hp wise, without a WG.

When I bought the twins it did have a wastegate and I thought that it was not working correctly so I took it off. In the process of taking it off I destroyed it. I have been looking at getting a tial wastegate but I am not sure on what size to get? I talked to shied diesel and the guy that I talked to said that if I wasn't running 90lbs of boost or more don't sweat it, but I think that my bottom turbo is not doing enough so a wastegate makes sense. My 150's will be here tomorrow and I'll have them in buy tomorrow night to see if they make a difference.
