Question bombing clutch hydraulics questions

Can anyone tell me if the pre 98 clutch master cylinder can be modified to fit a 98 and above? I haven't been able to find one to check for myself and I understand they are more trouble free with after makrket clutches.

Does anyone know of a slave cylinder which has a bleeder screw that can be used for our Dodges?

I've tried using a '96 slave cylinder on my '01, and the pedal effort is real good (it's a third larger in diameter), but I can't get enough air out of the system to get engagement off the floor. Bench bleeding the system is a PITA.

The stiff pedal and spongy clutch hydraulic probelms are starting to get to me.

When using a larger slave cylinder, does that not mean that you need to push more volume to get it to move the same amount as a smaller 1. If the master cylinder does not push enough volume then it wont ever have enough pedal travel.

Lets say your master cylinder is calibrated to move 10cc's of fluid into a slave cylinder that holds 11cc's. This gives you plenty of travel on the slave cylinder.

Now you change the slave cylinder to one that holds 20cc's. You are still only able to move 10cc's of fluid. This will cut your travel down to roughly 50% due to the larger volume slave cylinder.

Does this make sense?
