Bolt size for pressure plate-flywheel
Anyone know the size of bolt I need for pressure plate to flywheel? Also any other bolts for bolting the clutch up? Maybe in the service manual if someone can check? Thanks. Oh, and does Southbend include these in their kits? (I have the Con o kit, but its in my shop at the back of the ranch, and Id like to know before driving the 10 miles, being that Im in a Chevy right now)

Yeah Im pretty sure that the SB kit has the bolts. They dont take much torque either, just 25lbs. No other bolts needed, flywheel to crank and pressure plate to flywheel. Mic the OD on the input shaft compared to the ID on the pilot bearing, if your getrag has been laying around and catching rust the small amount of buildup on the input will cause it to bind up in the bearing. Just hit the input with some 3M emory, or some fine grit sand paper. I prefer to mount the whole mess together and then bolt it up to the adapter plate on the motor, using the dowel pins to locate. Thats also done with proper equipment and usually an extra hand. Good luck, hope to see ya in Deleon.

Good deal, thanks. I read something on alldatapro that said they were 5/16 but I dont know if thats the right one. Ill check my clutch box tomorrow.
I ended up completely rebuilding it, plus a new input shaft, so no worries there. Im pulling the auto in the morning, (probably solo, yeehaw...) and if my bro actually makes it out in the evening, and all goes right, the Getrag will be resting in place by Sunday morn.

I just got off the phone with SB about the same thing. 5/16"-18 x 3/4" Gr. 8 with lock washer is what they told me. They offered to red-label them to me but I'm going in this afternoon in the rain and mud. The MU0090 Ralley kit that I got also did not come with a brass pilot bushing. They were going to send me that too but I had already gotten one when i had the flywheel surfaced.

Whats up with that. Sorry to have mislead you brett but Im positive that the kit came with bolts, maybe the kit I fooled with was some sorta top notch deal. Instead of ramblin' on in my previous post I guess I couldve told you that they are 5/16x3/4, good luck with it.

Did you buy yours straight from SB or thru a distributor? I suspect that they throw those things in on ones that they ship direct. I bought thru a local distributor so I didn't get them.
